Apple Unveils iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia at WWDC

Apple used its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) to unveil its latest operating system updates, including iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. The presentations highlighted a range of new functionalities designed to enhance user experience across Apple's devices.

A significant focus was placed on the Photos app within iOS 18, with Apple introducing capabilities for users to add keywords and star ratings to their photos and videos. Search functionality is also being expanded to yield more relevant results, including specific people and pets. Customization options for slideshows are being enhanced, allowing them to be saved as videos. iCloud Shared Albums are set to receive substantial improvements, including features like "Recent Activity," the ability to react with any emoji, and options for full-resolution photo and video storage. New participant permission controls and faster loading times for new captures are also part of the update.

Beyond the Photos app, Apple also previewed enhancements for other applications and system-level features. Updates were shown for the Messages app, enabling users to type messages using any part of the screen, and for Safari, which will feature a redesigned experience with a new "Highlights" function. The company also showcased updates for iPadOS and watchOS, alongside revealing the long-awaited Apple Intelligence, a suite of AI features integrated into the core operating system.
